The Onyx and Breezy Foundation Helps Louisiana Dogs

34995_2Last year, the Onyx and Breezy foundation provided funds for 13 dogs to be transported from Louisiana to the Newark area before the Hurricane season, in order to open more space in the Louisiana shelters. Families in Louisiana often leave their pets in these shelters during evacuations, and then do not return to take them back. The shelters become very crowded during these seasons, and are very hard-pressed to care for the sudden rush of dogs. Euthanasia is often the only option. Shelter volunteers hoped the dogs would be adopted once they were transferred to New York and New Jersey.

The Onyx and Breezy Foundation is a non-profit organization which works to help animals and animal shelters throughout the United States. Corey Ribotsky is a member of the foundation. In this particular case, the organization provided the shelters with over $5,000 for both transportation and health care for the 13 dogs.
