LLS Teamed with The John Theurer Cancer Center for Program

In recent news for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, where Corey Ribotsky is a supporter, the Society recently partnered with The John Theurer Cancer Center to host a panel discussion with leading blood cancer experts.  The two hosted Partners in Progress, an expert panel discussion on advancing therapies for blood cancers.  The program, which took place on Tuesday, June 22 in Hackensack, NJ was free and open to patients, caregivers and healthcare providers.

It featured leading leukemia experts, clinical trial participants and MDS survivors.  The program was supported by an educational grant from Genentech/Biogen Idec and an educational donation from Amgen.

Corey Ribotsky and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Corey Ribotsky, a volunteer at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), would be only too proud of the Georgia Chain Gang. bikeThis Gang, comprising Dave Armento, Frank Fuerst, Jerome Rossetti and Tony Myers will be, yet again, doing more than their bit to benefit this very important organization.  These four men will be taking part in the upcoming 2010 Race Across America, in which bikers have to cycle from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD.  This will mark the second time that this very athletic gang will be rising to the challenge.  These remarkable individuals did pretty well last year, finishing in 7 days, 8 hours and 19 minutes.  They actually won from their age group too and came in fourth place overall from all 4-man teams!

Corey Ribotsky for LLS

Corey Ribotsky understands the importance of this vital organization.  Anything that can be done to help them – such as what the Gang has been, and is doing – is an extremely worthy venture.  Ribotsky himself volunteers his time with the LLS and the fact that last year the Gang raised a staggering $80,000 for blood cancer research is only something that individuals like Ribotsky are thrilled about.  The LLS is equally delighted since this year the Gang’s aim is to double the money they raise                  from that of last year.
